FOREST HOUSE Passive House in Co. Fermanagh

The site sits just outside Enniskillen, in County Fermanagh. This new dwelling was designed to meet the rigorous Passivhaus standard, delivering a home that's cost-effective to build, run, and maintain. A landscape-led design approach shaped the dwelling's form and materials, allowing it to visually integrate with the site and its surroundings.

Forest House achieves Passive House Classic certification through a high-performing building envelope: triple-glazed windows, mechanical ventilation with heat recovery (MVHR), thermal-bridge-free construction, and a rigorous airtightness strategy.

NI Building Regulations Part F requires new dwellings to be 'nearly zero-energy buildings' (nZEB), cutting CO2 emissions by at least 40%. Forest House more than doubles that requirement, achieving an 85% C02 reduction.
